The State of Florida has an estimated population of well over 1,000,000 alligators. Alligators live in large public waterways such as Lake Okeechobee, Kissimmee River, dairy reservoirs and small watering holes on ranches where they wait to take down livestock. Seminole Prairie has access to thousands of acres of private land to hunt gators year-round. There is also Florida public land alligator hunting that takes place from August thru October. Alligator hunting public land, however, is not like typical public land alligator hunts across the United States. There are hundreds of gators in the Okeechobee and Kissimmee River areas we gator hunt, with nearly 100% success.
