What you can expect while Red Stag hunting!!!
The morning will start with a good breakfast at the accommodation around 7.00-7.30am.
We will leave for the hunting ground around 8.00-8.30am, which will be a short drive.
The terrain is open mountain so the first hour of the morning is usually spent glassing and locating a herd of deer that can be approached.
The guide will have very good knowledge of the deer behavior on the ground and where they will most probably be depending on the wind direction.
Once deer are located then the stalk begins which could be several miles.
Shots are usually taken from between 80 – 250m, this will depend on how confident the hunter is at shooting and how close you can get to the herd.
A packed lunch will be arranged and taken with us on the mountain as you could well be out there all day.
In most cases there will be roads up the mountain that you will be driven up in a 4x4 or you could be travelling in a Argo cat.
Stags shot will be collected by the guide by Argo cat and taken back to a chiller.
After shooting a stag you must tell the guide if you would like the cape for taxidermy before any cuts are made.
Expect to be dropped of at the accommodation around 5 – 6pm, this will all depend on how far out on the mountain you end up hunting.
Hunting Red stags in Scotland requires a reasonable level of fitness mostly, but we can accommodate for most people.

The expected temps for September/October can be anywhere from -5℃ - 15℃ so you should think about having a good layering system of clothes with you. Recommended equipment for the hunt: Waterproof walking boots and gaiters, Waterproof clothing, Cold weather clothing for the mornings, A pair of gloves and a beanie for frosty conditions, Binoculars (if you have a set), Rifle and ammunition (only if you are bringing your own rifle), and small backpack to carry some bottles of drinking water and clothing if it gets too hot.
