NZHUNTUSA of San Antonio, Texas is donating a 4-day, 2x1 high-alpine bull tahr hunt for one hunter in New Zealand’s spectacular South Island. This traditional free-range foot hunt takes place on private land in the Mt. Cook region and is guided by New Zealand’s only master guide, Phil Wilson, who has over 40 years of experience and has taken more than 1,000 bulls. Prime trophy season runs May through August during the rut, though bull tahr may be hunted year-round. The hunt begins and ends in Christchurch, where your guide will meet you. Included are one professional guide, one trophy bull tahr, four days and three nights of basic ranch-house accommodations, home-style meals, airport transfers, 4x4 transportation throughout the hunt, field caping and meat preparation, a taxidermist visit, and full use of rifles and ammunition (bowhunters welcome but not recommended).
Hunt value is $5,500 with 100% donation. A second hunter may be added at half price ($2,750). Additional New Zealand species, extra days, or additional hunters may be added based on season and availability. References available upon request. Dates available for 2027/2028.
