Solo Creek Guide Services LLC., is a family-owned business run by Thomas Vaden, Sheila Vaden and Forest Sparks. They have graciously donated a hunt to be taken in 2025. Their family has been hunting and guiding in this area since 1960. It is an exclusive guide area, meaning no other guides in the State of Alaska can bring clients in. Not only can other guides not bring clients in, but Solo Creek is also so remote it is extremely unlikely you will ever see an Alaskan resident hunting in that area. You will spend 10 days in the Wrangell St. Elias National Preserve which borders the Wrangell St. Elias National Park, in the White River Valley and surrounding foothills and mountains. Solo Creek only books 4 to 5 hunters each year and limits their moose hunts to a maximum of 4 per year. They do this so they will have high game numbers for years to come.

Their goal is to give you the best hunting experience possible while putting you on as much game as possible. Their management program has led to them consistently harvest large bull moose. Bulls exceeding 60” are the norm and 70” is a REAL possibility. Days begin in the early morning. While you are being served breakfast, the camp help and assistant guides are saddling horses and spotting game. Often, moose can be spotted in the foothills just above camp. If not, hop on horseback and ride further, hunting throughout the day using a spot and stalk method. If bulls aren’t found in one area, it’s off to another. This occasionally requires setting up camp away from the lodge and hunting from that location. Hunts are conducted using horses with the final stalk being done on foot. Not include in the donation are, Alaska hunting license, moose tag, taxidermy, shipping of meat or trophy, tips and gratuities and transportation to and from Solo Creek. It is a very remote location with no roads or ATV access. You will travel to Fairbanks Alaska, then 40 Mile Air, will transport you from Fairbanks Alaska to Tok and then on into Solo Creek. The flight in and out of Solo Creek is approximately $1310. (2022 price) Each way. i.e. you flight in is $1310. And when you leave it is another flight of $1310. Occasionally you will be able to share a flight as the plane will hold two individuals and gear. Sheila will provide you all the contact information and assist you in booking your flights. Familiarity and experience with horseback riding are essential. If you can’t ride your travels will be limited thus limiting your exposure to the best possible bull. LVSCI thanks Thomas, Sheila & Forest for their very generous donation. This hunt is valued at $27,000.
