We want hunters and outfitters to have a positive experience.

Expectations of hunters:

1) Bring another hunter and extend the hunt if feasible

2) Hunt from the outfitter's price list after harvesting donated trophies if additional game are
available and tip generously

Donations may not be sold, transferred, or combined on one trip with another hunt unless outfitters and chapter agree prior to auction.
Exhibitor Jason Allee and Alaskan Quest are donating a Yukon Moose DIY adventure for 2 hunters in Alaska’s South Brooks Range.

Alaskan Quest has been in the Alaska DIY hunting business for 20 years. It boasts a near perfect success rate on DIY Caribou hunts and an impressive 72% for Yukon Moose the past five years. That is a per person success rate, not per group. Most DIY hunters with Alaskan Quest harvest their bull.

This package provides the winning hunters everything they need, prior to arriving in the field, for a successful Alaska Moose hunt including unlimited personal communication with the owner of Alaskan Quest regarding the hunt as well as maps, and related advice for hunting strategy. Alaskan Quest is not providing in-field guide services. This is a DIY adventure. The river raft rental is also part of this package. Alaskan Quest will assist hunters with all the additional pre-hunt arrangements such as float plane. Hunters will be responsible for all costs.

Typical itinerary is outlined below:

Fly into Fairbanks on a commercial flight 2-3 days before hunt begins.
Fly in private air taxi approximately 2 hours to the interior of Alaska.
The day you fly in is Day 1 and you are not able to hunt the day you fly in. This is a day to float and fish.

Day 2 to the end of your float trip is fishing and hunting. When you are successful, there are spots in most areas to have meat flown out mid-trip. However, be prepared to take care of meat through proper preservation processes the entire trip.

On the last day of your trip, or day(s) prior, you will arrive at your pick-up spot. You will have contacted your pilot on In-Reach or Sat Phone the day before/when you arrive. It will take most of the day to get your party and meat back to Fairbanks. Be prepared to stay 2-4 extra days in case weather is not your favor or the pilot’s.

Upon arrival back to Fairbanks allow 1-2 days to ‘de-bush’ and take care of your meat and shipping any items home.
