Dedicated to the memory of William James Lloyd Hunt (of Calgary, AB)
On July 10, 2023 near Billings, Montana at the age of 21, William passed away.

William was driving home from his summer adventure as a white water river guide in Colorado following his sophomore year at the University of Arizona. On July 9th, he was in a single vehicle crash on a highway south of Billings Montana. Willy was taken to St.
Vincent’s hospital early Sunday morning where the incredible team of surgeons, doctors, nurses and staff did the absolute most to save his life and reduce the swelling that had begun in his brain. His body, while bruised, suffered little injury compared to the devastation that his head suffered.

By the grace of God and the helping hands of good friends and good people, Willy's mother, father, sister and grandpa were able to have the gift of being with him Sunday evening. The blessing of being with Willy as his time came to an end is something that can never be repaid. Gratitude and love to the crew at Air Sprint in Calgary through whose extraordinary efforts this gift was received. On Monday afternoon, Willy left this world and the night sky gained its brightest star.

William is remembered and honored as a son, a brother, and a loyal friend. He was an adventurer beyond compare who took life by the horns, left nothing unsaid and nothing unfelt. Fearless and strong are words that come to mind when you remember this storied traveler, followed quickly by kind, loving and gentle. Above all, William lived to laugh and never let a room sit without joy for too long.

It has always been William’s desire to be an organ donor. It is so touching that even after a life so full of love, compassion and kindness, Willy wanted to continue to give to the beautiful world that he loved so much. William's impact will be forever remembered both in the lives and hearts he touched in his time on earth and in the selfless gift of his organs; given of course with a loving and honest heart at the time of his passing. At the time of writing this, the impact of William’s gift of organ donation has blessed a blind person to receive sight again through receipt of his corneas, his heart to an individual in Northern California and to another person his liver.

All proceeds from this Live Auction item this evening will be donated directly to organ donation agencies, and to UKnighted Fund – Knights Hockey Club to purchase equipment for underprivileged children
