Auction Details

THE NUMBER OF AUCTION ITEMS IS NOW COMPLETE and all are open for bidding. THE WRITE-UPS ARE ALSO COMPLETE. PRE-AUCTION BIDDING HAS STARTED ON MOST ITEMS.

Remember the auction is held in Canadian Dollars ($CDN). The approximate exchange rate on Friday, January 7 was $1US=$1.26CDN. Check with your bank for applicable exchange rates.

* This listing shows the live auction items. Also, there will be silent auction and raffle items at the dinner and those are for sale only to those at the dinner.

** If you have questions, we will try to answer based on the information we have. We strongly encourage you to contact the donor especially if you are serious about purchasing or bidding on an item. You can either bid through this website or in person at the dinner. You do not have to register online if you are attending the dinner.

*** For the live auction, it is the winning bidder's responsibility to contact the donor or outfitter within 30 days. If you fail to contact the donor or outfitter within 30 days, they are under no obligation to honour the purchased hunt.

**** 5% GST will be added to the final price for all Canadian items. International hunts do not have GST.

***** A buyer's premium of 3% will be added to all online purchases.

SCI Calgary depends on the generosity of the donors to fund our programs. For the organization and these auctions to be sustainable in the long term, the donors need to recover some of their costs and so depend on successful bidders spending above what has been provided in the donation.

Please view the donation provided as the minimum for the trip, and if possible, please add either additional days or more animals and items. Besides, a longer trip is always more memorable than a shorter one, and more animals are better than less.

Also, the donations are provided in good faith, and in our view, it is not acceptable for a bidder to chain together several donations on the same trip, and then to just hunt the minimum on each. It will be your responsibility and cost if you attempt to chain together several donations on the same trip and the donor does not honour your purchase. To avoid this situation, we strongly recommend you do not purchase more than one hunt within a country. Also, some donors do not accept re-gifting of the purchased hunt. If you wish to do so, please discuss this with the donor or outfitter in advance of bidding to ensure that they will honour the purchase.

Lastly, we would encourage you to provide feedback both to the donor and to SCI Calgary on the donation.

We need to ensure hunting continues for generations, as the future of wildlife depends on it!

Generally, outfitters do not allow back to back donation hunts, so even if the description is not explicit, do not buy more than one hunt per country! If you want to string together two or more hunts, you must gain the approval of all outfitters ahead of bidding.
There is an implicit stipulation that any donation is for new customers only. Check with your outfitter!
